Classical definition: When benefic planets other than the Moon occupy the 2nd and 12th houses from the Sun, the Yoga is called Subhobhayachari. (The same pattern with malefic planets gives the opposite result.) In modern terms: At least one of Mercury, Jupiter or Venus is in the 2nd house from the Sun, and at least one (the same or another) is in the 12th house from the Sun. Count the houses from the Sun's sign as house 1. The Moon is not counted here. The same pattern with Mars or Saturn is a different yoga. Source: Phaladeepika, Adhyaya 6, sloka 8-9 (V.
