What it means
Every chart has a ruler of the rising sign, called the Lagna lord. It stands for you: body, health, confidence, the energy you bring to things.
The kendra houses (1, 4, 7, 10) and the trikona houses (1, 5, 9) are the strong seats in a chart. Kendras give action. Trikonas give fortune. A Lagna lord in one of them is read as a person whose energy lands somewhere useful.
That is six houses out of twelve, so about half of all charts pass. It is a generous test. A pass says the base is steady, not that everything will go well.
Look at which house yours is in. The 10th points to work, the 9th to luck and teachers, the 4th to home. Same pass, different flavour.
The rule is a single condition. The planet is not named in it. The builder works out who your Lagna lord is for each chart.
