A grievance may also hold your attention. You might want an unfair rule questioned, a disputed charge examined or a complaint brought into the open. Argument can become an active way of participating when you believe that something is wrong.

The dispute can begin to occupy a large part of the activity. You might keep returning to the complaint, put more effort into opposing an arrangement or become heavily involved in the argument around it. The difficulty concerns how much attention the conflict receives, including when the original task still needs doing.
