Classical definition: If the Moon is in its own or exaltation house identical with a Trikona or a Kendra, and is aspected by Jupiter, the Yoga is Gouri. In modern terms: The Moon is in its own sign (Cancer) or its sign of exaltation (Taurus), and is in a kendra or a trikona (the 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th or 10th house). Jupiter aspects the Moon.
